CIRCLE DANCE WORKSHOP
with Adrian Pointon & Cindy Kelly
November 1-3, 2019
Cindy and Adrian are well known and well loved dance teachers from England. Renowned for their enthusiasm and energy, they bring a sense of joy to the dance.
They combine clear teaching styles with a sense of humor and have the ability to create a more reflective atmosphere in which they enable groups to explore the spiritual aspects of the dance. Cindy has been teaching Sacred Dance / Circle Dance since 1993 and Adrian has been teaching Circle Dance and Israeli Folk Dance since 1995 – Adrian has learned many Israeli dances directly from their choreographers.
Dancing in a circle is an ancient tradition common to many cultures for marking special occasions, strengthening community and encouraging togetherness. Circle dances can be gentle and reflective or energetic and lively. Cindy and Adrian draw on the rich and diverse dances of many countries and cultures, including Greece, Romania, Macedonia, Albania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Israel, Armenia, Serbia, Bosnia, Russia, and the Roma people, as well as newly choreographed dances to classical and contemporary music.
Teaching internationally in Morocco, Croatia and the USA, as well as closer to home in England, Wales and Scotland, their dance choices, particularly their own choreographies to contemporary Celtic music, are very popular. Cindy’s dance ‘Calum’s Road’ and Adrian’s dance ‘Celtic Spirit’ are firm favourites with dancers around the world.

“Cindy and Adrian are gifted dance teachers who radiate warmth and pleasure. I love to watch Cindy dancing – colourful and sensual, bringing the dances to life. Adrian is a stylish dancer and musician. They are both relaxed and experienced focalisers, complimenting one another, relishing the power and silence of the dance while balancing it with playfulness and humour.” Stefan Freedman
“Together they offer so much: an abundance of knowledge of the Dance, extensive repertoires, huge teaching ability, amazing creativity in choreographing new dances, and they’re also a lot of fun! Hazel Young
“Cindy and Adrian’s infectious smiles and evident joy in the dance and its music sent ripples of happiness around the room and gave us all a really uplifting experience.” Dawn Wakefield
