NEW CLASS Starting September 16th
T’ai Chi Chuan for Well Being and Balance
T’ai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese art of slow, flowing movements that has traditionally been practiced for health benefits, defensive purposes and as a form of meditation. Recent studies show that practicing T’ai Chi can help practitioners, among other benefits, improve their balance and bone density.
Instructors, Ken Parker and Mary Ruppert, of Lyman NH, have practiced T’ai Chi Chuan since 1995 and 1999, respectively. They have studied extensively with Master Tung Kai Ying and his son, Master Tung Chen Wei, practicing the very traditional Yang style. Both Ken and Mary have also also studied with Dr. Fuzhon Li of the Oregon Research Institute and incorporate Dr Li’s methods to improve balance in their practice. This class will present a fusion of ancient practice and current research to help students improve their well being through the practice of T’ai Chi.
Classes will run for 8 weeks at Neskaya on Mondays 4:30-5:30 pm, September 16 – November 4. Cost: $64 for the 8 class sessions. Wear comfortable clothes and socks. All activities are done standing or in a chair. Questions? Call Mary or Ken 603-838-5528.
