January 10, 2021
2 pm Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Online dancing has helped us weave the sparkling web of circle dance across the world more firmly and more inclusively than ever before.

Neskaya is pleased to present six monthly “Web of Dance” Zoom sessions which will feature facilitators from many countries.

The first event will be Sunday, January 10, 2021, at 2pm EST (Eastern USA), with a theme of “New Beginnings”.  Each session will last about 90 minutes, plus time for informal chat afterwards.  Here’s the Zoom link:

There’s no charge for these events, as we want everyone to be able to enjoy them, but Neskaya is a non-profit and has seen a significant loss of income in the past year, so donations are welcome: go to www.neskaya.com and select “contribute”.

We thank our participants for graciously donating their time and expertise.

Our first four featured facilitators (love the alliteration!) will be:

Laura Shannon, who lives in Greece, Scotland and England, (but not all at the same time):
She has been researching and teaching traditional Greek, Balkan, and Armenian dances for over thirty years, with a focus on their inherently sacred and therapeutic qualities. In this gathering Laura will share simple dances which help us set clear intentions for the New Year. www.laurashannon.net

Sylvie-Guylaine Fortin, of St. Jacques, Quebec, Canada:
Following the phases of the moon and the seasons of nature, Sylvie-Guylaine  leads us online from Canada in beautiful meditative and inspirational dances of her own creation, while also transmitting some she learned from other teachers.

Kevin Meyer, who says:
“I teach circle dances and longdances with my wife Diane Shenk, we are based in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. I have been offering weekly online dance sessions via Facebook live at www.Facebook.com/SacredCircle. I also have posted many dance tutorials on my YouTube channel at https://youtube.com/user/kemilmeyer.

Frida Zalcman from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
She is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher of Israeli Dance and Body Movement as well as the Hebrew language and the Cabala. Her work is based in the Tree of Life/Cabala, exploring its four worlds and its specific energetic emanations and creating moving sequences that she calls “Corporal Prayers”.

Subsequent Web of Dance sessions are planned for Sundays February 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, and June 13.  The line-ups will be announced well before the events.
